The Melvor Idle 2 Demo is now live!
Hey everyone,
We’re not going to delay here, let’s get right into the info you’re looking for.
The Demo is now live on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest!
Yep, right now. You can now download the demo on steam from our store page here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3218350/Melvor_Idle_2/
On the page, look for the big green banner (just below the images) and click Download. Steam will take it from there!
Key info (TL;DR):
- The demo is live now, it will remain available for a few weeks after Next Fest ends.
- The demo includes 22 out of 25 of the skills in the current Alpha build. The skills not included are Astrology, Herblore, and Agility. Full list of included skills down below.
- All skills are capped at level 60, with most content below that cap available to experience.
- Act 1 of the main storyline is included in the Demo.
- Demo saves can be converted into regular game saves once the game hits Early Access. Saves will automatically be backed up to your Steam Cloud, but we’d also recommend making a local copy.
Here’s what’s included in the Demo version!
The demo includes most of the content we currently have in the Alpha below level 60. 21 skills will be available. The skills not included are Astrology, Herblore, and Agility. Most content that’s available below the Level 60 cap will be included in the demo version.
The demo also includes the first act of our playable story, which you’ll be able to play as a series of quests!
We opted for the level 60 cap for the demo as a reasonable point for players to hit to get a feel for what the game has to offer. Reaching level 60 in a skill (while playing optimally) should take somewhere in the region of 10-12 hours of playtime, so it’s theoretically possible to hit that cap in every skill while the demo is live!
Save files will be forward compatible
Demo saves will be usable in the Early Access version of the game, so you’ll be able to continue where you left off. Your saves will automatically be backed up to Steam Cloud, but we’d always recommend grabbing a local copy as well just to be safe!
Discussions and Feedback
The best place to discuss the game, give us feedback, and report bugs is in Discord! We have a dedicated Melvor Idle 2 section set up, with forums for feedback and bug reports.
We’ll also be keeping and eye on discussion on Steam, on social media, and on Reddit, but our main focus is going to be over on Discord.
You can join the Melvor Idle discord here: https://discord.gg/melvoridle
What happens after the Demo period ends?
We’re still on track for our 2026 Early Access launch. We’ll be reviewing the feedback from the demo and making any changes we think are needed before we roll that out. Once we’ve got a good handle on how much work is needed, we’ll be able to confirm the launch window.
The demo will remain available for a few weeks after the end of Next Fest.
Conclusion
We hope you’re as excited as we are for the Demo! We’ve been absolutely dying to get the game into everyone’s hands, and we can’t wait to read all of your feedback and comments.
