Hey everyone!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks! Now that the Next Fest is behind us, we wanted to take a look in both directions: back at Next Fest, and everything we experienced and learned, and forwards to Early Access, and the future of Melvor Idle 2 (now with a slightly longer name).

# Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure

Let's first address the Level 99 elephant in the room. This is something we were trying to finalise and announce prior to Next Fest, however there were still a few final things to iron out before we got there.

We’re super excited to announce that Jagex are our official Publisher for Melvor Idle 2\. They were an integral part of Melvor Idle’s success, allowing us to reach audiences across the globe that we never would have been able to otherwise. They helped us build an incredible community that allowed us to even consider working on Melvor Idle 2 in the first place. It was nothing short of fantastic working alongside them on our first game, and having them on board for the sequel is incredibly exciting.

Jagex will be taking care of all the Publishing responsibilities such as localisation/translation support, marketing, platform support and everything around it. This will allow our small team to dedicate 100% of our resources on developing the game itself to create the best possible experience for everyone.

Alongside their Publishing support, we’ve agreed to a licensing arrangement which grants us permission to use their RuneScape branding to help amplify our game and reach far more players around the world. We are still the Melvor Idle you know, and always will be!

# Releasing on Steam into Early Access 17 November 2026

You’ve all been asking for a date, and there it is! We learned a lot from the release of the demo (we’ll talk about that more in a bit), but the biggest thing we learned is this: you want to play the game, and it’s (almost) ready to be put into your hands.

The early access version will feature everything that you’ve already experienced in the Demo version, plus a whole lot more:

- 3 new Skills - Astrology, Herblore and Agility
- Level cap increased to 99, with content available up to that level.
- 4 new Mastery Guild Ranks
- 1,800+ Items
- 150+ Monsters
- 25 pets (more or less, some of them run around a lot so it’s hard to count!)
- Act 2 main storyline (About 3x larger than Act 1)

We’ll also be making more than a few changes based on what we learned during Next Fest. Let’s take a look at how that all went 👀

[Melvor Idle 2 on SteamEmbark on a brand new adventure building upon its predecessor. Melvor Idle 2 expands the world with deeper mechanics and greater challenges. Master new Skills, face powerful Combat challenges, or uncover the history of the world via Quests, all while enjoying zen-like progression.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/47/ef/47ef648d-4725-4c31-b5d3-cf4be674a7a3/content/images/icon/favicon-d65da403-ec4f-4a3e-9e3c-568fb47c87d9.ico)STEAM![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/47/ef/47ef648d-4725-4c31-b5d3-cf4be674a7a3/content/images/thumbnail/capsule_616x353-01798b8a-ce87-4c51-b9ca-3a5f7d9c86ad.jpg)](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3218350/Melvor%5FIdle%5F2/?ref=news.melvoridle.com)

# Your Demo saves will transfer to Early Access!

There’s no need to do anything on your side. When you launch the Early Access version, your save will be waiting and ready to load.

If you want some extra peace just in case, you can do the following:

- **Make a Local Backup of your save:** This can be done by clicking the “gear” icon on the character select screen, and choosing “Copy save string to clipboard”. Paste that in a text file and save it somewhere.
- **Use Melvor Cloud:** Our game has automatic cloud saving, and it's super handy if you don’t want to keep local copies of your save. This is also what you’ll use to play the same save on Mobile when it launches.

# Next Fest Roundup

Our Next Fest experience was, to put it mildly, absolutely incredible. Over 50 thousand of you downloaded the demo. At our peak, over 7,200 of you were playing at one time, and we’re included in the list of “most popular demos” from Next Fest!

Aside from the numbers, the feedback we got was also incredible. Just in our in-game forms, we had over 1,000 individual feedback submissions, more than 1,200 ratings (with some valuable feedback included), and over 500 bug report submissions. That doesn’t include all the feedback from Discord, the Steam forums, Reddit, and social media.

We saw what you really loved (Tapi and Ash’s art, and Matteo Palmer’s soundtrack, got lots of attention!), what’s a *little* overpowered (looking at you giant chicken), and where some of your frustrations are.

We’ve already pushed out a few patches to address some of the more common pain points: fixes for loading screen issues and resolution scaling, balance adjustments, bug fixes, and a few minor QOL adjustments. We’ll have even more changes in place for Early Access launch - here are a few we’ve already put in motion:

- **Legacy Sidebar.** By far our most requested feature. See your skills and their levels in one place.
- **Improved UI for stats.** Better ways to show gear stats across the game.
- **UI Tweaks.** Changes to the UI to help with information display, contrast, and readability.
- **Small balance adjustments.** Specifically targeting making the early game a bit more enjoyable.
- **Engine improvements.** Lots and lots of performance and stability fixes.

This launch is just the beginning of our Early Access journey; there’s still lots more to come. The journey from the initial Alpha to here has already been incredible, and we want to thank everyone who’s helped us shape the game to this point. We can’t wait to see how you’ll all shape it next when it launches on November 17th!

Speak (very) soon!
